So a quick weekend in Ocean City to relax and chill out a bit. It is really hot up here – big time heat wave. But last night was cool and breezy when the wind shifted and came off the ocean. Enjoyed a delicious cheese steak sandwich from our favorite spot – Voltacos.
Ocean City boardwalk. The lifeguards have an American tribute and flag raising every morning at 9:20. Pretty neat to see all the people who show up for this.
Today was my second day back at work and it was difficult – this week, a LOT of long time space center workers leave. I’ve been saying Goodbye to old friends all day yesterday and today. Very sad. So meanwhile, I decided to go look up this chapel our Germany team stopped at in Bavaria and found a great picture of the St. Coloman Chapel with Neuschwanstein in the background.
St. Coloman was hanged in 1012 in Stockerau, Austria after being accused of spying.

We check out of the hostel in less than an hour. Short night of sleep having attended the Harry Potter opening last night at 10:30. Everything is so different…
Had dinner at the Astoria Waldorf club house. It’s just like our golf and tennis country clubs, except your surrounded by soccer fields.
Played a U15/16/17 Astoria Waldorf team and won. Goals from Amanda, Susannah, Summer and Mercedes.

We are enjoying a rest period in the middle of our last day. Girls slept in today. Today’s agenda was shopping in Frankfurt in the morning and then later a match in the evening in Heidelberg. Cheryl and I took a group of ‘late sleepers’ shopping in Frankfurt.
Hopefully the girls will all wake up enough to play a decent match. I think the girls will rise to the occasion. We’ll see.
