A full day of sightseeing. We arranged a group tour at Neuschwanstein Castle which turned out great. On the way there, we stopped at St. Colomen’s – will have to research that later. Beautiful small church in the countryside built in the 1600s.
Castle tour was awesome. Spent a lot of time there on a guided tour. Then on to Munich where we toured Marienplatz, dinner and beverages at Hofbräuhaus. We took an interesting walk from there to the National Museum using my GPS against Bill’s wishes. Bill might have been right. But we got to see the surfing in the English Garden and met the bus on time.
On the way out, we drove by the Olympic Village in Munich from the 1972 Olympics.
Tomorrow we check out of our Augsburg hostel and take the Romantic Road back to Frankfurt. We have lunch planned in Dinkelsburg and a tour in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. Should be back in the Frankfurt hostel for dinner.
Girls spent A LOT OF TIME planning their attire for Wednesday’s USA vs France game.
Some of today’s pictures… Please enjoy the picture of Cheryl and her approach to dealing with me all these 24+ years. And we will need a picture party when we get home. Amil and others have taken thousand of great pictures.

i can’t wait to see the team painted up for Wednesday game!! usa usa usa usa!!!!
Great blog Kevin!!! I’m glad you are enjoying Deutschland. If I’m not mistaken the game on Wednesday is played at the Borussia Park, the home of my favorite team Borussia Monchengladbach. I was there in 2008 to watch a game in FREEZING weather, it will be much nicer for you guys on Wednesday. Have a wonderful and safe rest of your trip and say hi to Udo for me.
A very “culture filled” day – now on to the business at hand. Soccer tomorrow, and just think of how things have all played out allowing you to see Team USA in the semi-finals after such an amazing match against Brazil. It almost seems providential. What a story you all will have to tell.
